The Eye Test

The cost of an eye test at The Optic Shop Cardiff is £30

The following people qualify for a free NHS test:

• Under 16, or under 19 years of age and in full time education
• Aged 60 and over
• Registered blind or partially sighted
• Diagnosed as having glaucoma or diabetes
• Aged 40 years or over with a first degree relative with glaucoma
• Diagnosed as at risk of glaucoma by an ophthalmologist
• Prescribed a complex lens

You are also entitled to a free NHS eye test if you or your partner are receiving the following:

• Income support
• Pension credit guarantee credit
• Income based Jobseeker's Allowance
• If you are named on a Tax Credit NHS exemption certificate
• If you hold a current HC2 certificate for full help with NHS costs
